This position is responsible for assessment of clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (and other developmental delays) and overseeing the implementation of therapy plans.

Permanent part time position, or full time position available.

Job Description

  • Assessment in the areas of: social, cognitive, communication, play, emotional functioning/self regulation, and life skills.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess client's needs and family priorities.

  • Integrate all clinical information and develop a Therapy Plan for each client.

  • Monitor clients' progress and Therapy Plan, making updates on a regular basis both by direct observation of the child as well as by analyzing program data.

  • Provide ongoing training, monitoring, and evaluation of Therapy Technicians.

  • Lead and/or participate in client team meetings.

  • Train/educate family members.

  • Identify and develop necessary supports for child (as is appropriate) e.g. Visual supports, functional assessments of behaviour.

  • Write termination and progress reports as required.

  • Stay current on evidence based practices.

  • Meet clinical competencies.

  • Maintain professional and ethical standards as outlined by the Behaviour Analyst
    Certification Board (BACB).

  • Participation in diagnostic team.

    Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or other related field.

  • Current Board certification as a Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) , or eligible for BCBA certification.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops.

  • Experience with the delivery of a variety of interventions to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental disabilities.

  • Appropriate membership to professional associations related to the field.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of age groups.

  • Clearance from a criminal record check.

  • NZ permanent residency/citizenship or a valid NZ work visa.
