This position is responsible for the assessment and implementation of behavioural interventions for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Permanent part time position, or full time position available.
The role of the Behaviour Analyst includes;
Assessment in the domain areas of: social, cognitive, communication, play, emotional functioning/self regulation, and life skills.
Work as part of a trans/multidisciplinary team to assess client's needs and family priorities.
Integrate all clinical information and develop a behaviour plan of intervention for each client.
Monitor clients' progress and Behaviour Plan of Intervention - make updates on a regular basis both by direct observation of the child as well as by analyzing program data.
Train and provide regular written and verbal feedback to Behaviour Interventionists/Therapy Assistants.
Lead and/or participate in client team meetings.
Train/educate family members.
Identify and develop necessary supports for child (as is appropriate) e.g. Visual supports, functional assessments of behaviour.
Provide positive behaviour strategies to address maladaptive behaviour.
Develop transition plans as necessary.
Write termination and progress reports as required.
Stay current on evidence based practices.
Must be able to follow instructions
Masters Degree in Psychology, ABA, or other related field.
Specific training in the field of Applied Behavioural Analysis (Board certification as a Behaviour Analyst an asset, but not a requirement).
Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops.
Experience with the delivery of a variety of interventions to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental disabilities.
Appropriate membership to professional associations related to the field.
Clearance from a criminal record check.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of age groups.
