This position is responsible for the assessment and implementation of behavioural interventions for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Permanent part time position, or full time position available.

Job Description

  • The role of the Behaviour Analyst includes;
    Assessment in the domain areas of: social, cognitive, communication, play, emotional functioning/self regulation, and life skills.

  • Work as part of a trans/multidisciplinary team to assess client's needs and family priorities.

  • Integrate all clinical information and develop a behaviour plan of intervention for each client.

  • Monitor clients' progress and Behaviour Plan of Intervention - make updates on a regular basis both by direct observation of the child as well as by analyzing program data.

  • Train and provide regular written and verbal feedback to Behaviour Interventionists/Therapy Assistants.

  • Lead and/or participate in client team meetings.

  • Train/educate family members.

  • Identify and develop necessary supports for child (as is appropriate) e.g. Visual supports, functional assessments of behaviour.

  • Provide positive behaviour strategies to address maladaptive behaviour.

  • Develop transition plans as necessary.

  • Write termination and progress reports as required.

  • Stay current on evidence based practices.

  • Must be able to follow instructions

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Psychology, ABA, or other related field.

  • Specific training in the field of Applied Behavioural Analysis (Board certification as a Behaviour Analyst an asset, but not a requirement).

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops.

  • Experience with the delivery of a variety of interventions to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental disabilities.

  • Appropriate membership to professional associations related to the field.

  • Clearance from a criminal record check.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of age groups.
