Fears and Phobias

A phobia is an overwhelming or irrational fear of a specific object or situation that can cause significant distress. These fears and phobias can profoundly affect a person's quality of life, making it challenging to enjoy family time, pursue hobbies, socialise, or engage with the community. Our compassionate team of psychologists can provide a safe and supportive space for neurodiverse young people, guiding them through the process of overcoming fears and phobias to regain confidence.

Our psychologists can support with:

  • Medical & self-care phobias (e.g., doctors, dentists, hairdressers, needles/injections, nail clippers, blood).

  • Animal phobias (e.g., snakes, spiders, dogs, mice).

  • Situational phobias (e.g., toilets, water, thunder/storms, cars, tunnels, escalators, lifts, bridges).

“Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will.”
