Toileting

Increasing independence and dignity

Developing independent toilet skills is pivotal for a young person's dignity and autonomy. Yet, for neurodivergent individuals, toilet training can present challenges. Our dedicated toilet training service is designed to help young people become more confident and independent with using the toilet.

Our team can help with:

  • Deciding whether it is the right time to start toilet training.

  • Supporting young people who are hesitant about sitting on or using the toilet.

  • Supporting those who hold on for long periods of time.

  • Transitioning out of nappies/incontinence pads.

  • Reducing toileting accidents.

  • Increasing continence at night time.

We have a range of different toilet training packages available. Our team can put together an evidence-based, individualised toilet training plan based on the needs of the young person to ensure we are working at their pace and setting them up for success.

“You know you’re toilet training when you have a potty in the kitchen and candy in the bathroom!”
